Programs


Buddy Program

The "Buddy" Program is co-sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg several times a year. We usually have activities on Mondays from 6:00 until 7:30 throughout the school year. Check the dates and times in our montly newsletter. We have students from our local schools who come to be a "buddy" to a special needs child.

After School Arc

The Arc operates an After-School Program and for extended hours during the summer months. The program is operated at the Arc House Monday thru Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Men's Respite

The Men's Program takes place on the first weekend of each each month. Men, approximately 15 years of age and older, are eligible. The program begins on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and ends on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Ladies' Respite

The Ladies' Program takes place on the second weekend of each month. Ladies, approximately 15 years of age and older, are eligible. The program begins on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and ends on Saturday at 9:00 p.m.

Friends at The Arc

The Friends at The Arc Program is for children and takes place on the third weekend of each month. The program begins on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and ends on Saturday at 9:00 p.m.

Weekend at The Arc

The Weekend at The Arc Program is designed to give younger children and medically fragile clients the opportunity to participate in a respite program. The program takes place on the fourth weekend of each month. The program begins on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and ends on Saturday at 9:00 p.m.

Parent's Day Out

The Parent's Day Out Program is for pre-schoolers with disabilities. The program takes place on Thursday of each week from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. On staff is a registered nurse and volunteers.

Cost: There is no cost, however, families are asked to provide food and drink for their child.

 

 

 

 

Summer Adventures

The Summer Adventures Summer Enrichment Program helps fill those long days of summer by offering recreational activities, leisure skills and community outings for six weeks each summer. The Adventure Program is staffed by certified teachers and assistants. All activities are fully supervised. Transportation is available within the Hattiesburg city limits. Applications are distributed from an active membership list. The forms are mailed out in February and posted on the web site annually.

The deadline for registration is April. You must pay your $25.00 annual membership and then you can register for Summer Adventures.
